Are there ways in which you think our neighbourhood could be improved? Would you like the streets to be more people-friendly? A group of local people has put together a very short, exploratory questionnaire – with space for your ideas and opinions – in order to clarify what issues are important to local residents. If there is a groundswell of interest, this could be taken further (with the support of the local Council) to seek sources of funding for neighbourhood improvements (click on link below for the questionnaire and more detail). Below is a link to the questionnaire:
Schemes that are designed by local people have most chance of success – both locally, and with the funding bodies. We therefore need to harvest as wide a range of local opinion as possible. So please tell your neighbours about it, and encourage them to take part! If you would like to be involved in this project, fill in the box at the end of the questionnaire.
As well as the online version, paper copies of the questionnaire are available in Alexandra Park Library (it would, however, save work for local volunteers if as many questionnaires as possible were completed online).
Initially, the study will focus on the relatively self-contained neighbourhood bounded by Alexandra Park, the railway, and Albert Road Recreation Ground. But streets do not end at the edge of neighbourhoods, and others in Alexandra Ward are welcome to take part as well. In addition, we can make the questionnaire available to other neighbourhoods who would like to run their own street survey.
