We have lived here for 16 years and like the area and the street very much. It is very friendly and very neighbourly. Neighbours look out for each other e.g. taking in parcels, reciprocal cat-feeding. There are lots of families with children at the very good local schools (Rhodes Avenue and A.P). It is a quiet road generally and parking is usually OK. A small con is that in snowy/icy weather it is one of the last streets to become clear and is often overlooked by the council's gritting lorry. Can be very hazardous walking on both road and pavements.
Re: Clare's mention of gritting - a few years ago when we had deep snow for several days, I suggested to some neighbours that we get a pavement gritter - not cheap, but the pavements in Alexandra Park Road and elsewhere in this neighbourhood were lethal! We certainly haven't had snow for some time, but ice is just as bad - perhaps now we have a neighbourhood website we could do a bit of crowdfunding for one, or something similar?
Forgot to mention we have a wonderful milkman (Palace Dairies) who serves the Alexandra Park area and is brilliantly reliable. So much to say...
Like home in a way they never did - also the parade of shops is great and getting better. Moving here was the best thing we did as a family
Best wishes

Yes, the overground station is 5-10mins walk, tube 15-20mins walk (Wood Green and Bounds Green), and the 184 bus also goes to all stations!
