National Gardens Scheme "OPEN GARDEN "

Earl  and I are delighted to  invite you to our FIRST  NGS  of this year . Sadly we had to cancel all but one event last year due to covid.

Despite  the pandemic  in 2020 , the National Gardens Scheme  a charity  supporting caring causes in the UK  of which I am Assistant County Organiser  NW London  , managed to donate £2.88 Million to beneficiaries including Macmillan, Marie Curie, Hospice Uk, Parkinson's and may bursaries , by opening private gardens to the public. 

  For information  see www.ngs.org.uk  . Some gardens have had to cancel due to covid. From June 21st  restrictions will be lifted . As our garden is large, we hope visitors will maintain a safe distance, and relax and renew their spirits .8806322069?profile=RESIZE_710x8806322094?profile=RESIZE_710x

Meanwhile, our helpers are  thrilled to be involved again .We have missed them, and our loyal visitors . We will be monitoring numbers so visitors will stay safe . Our ceramics studio will be open,  our mega plant sale  is a huge draw, as are our delicious home made teas .

      Thank you so much Annabel. It is looking lovely. . .the cold is good .. holding things back , rather than heat making everything flower too soon . .like last year's heatwave!

      Glad to hear the cold is good for something ... Mind you, I believe the apple trees will like it, even if they are blossoming late.

Saturday 29 November – Piano Concert Outside the classical box at Alexandra Park Library, 3:00pm to 4:30pm.

Monday 1 December – Walk with Ease – walking technique group class outside Pavilion Cafe, OR Tambo Rec, 12.30-1.15pm.

Friday 5 December – Christmas Fair at St. Martin of Porres RC primary school, Blake Road N11, 3.30-5.30pm.

Saturday 6 December – Christmas Family Film Night at Muswell Hill Methodist Church, 6-8.30pm.

Sunday 7 December – Jazz ‘n Carols at Muswell Hill Methodist Church, 3.30-4.30pm.

Sunday 7 December – A Cinematic Christmas Concert at St. Mellitus Church, Tollington Park N4 3AG, 6.30-9pm.

Wednesday 10 December– Bowes Park Community Choir's Winter Concert at St Peter le Poer Church, Albion Avenue (off Colney Hatch Lane). Doors open 7.45pm, concert from 8pm.

Thursday 11 December– Christmas Showcase at Bowes Park Folk Club at Mum's Bistro, 143 Myddleton Road, N22 8NG , 7:45pm to 10:30pm.

Advent and Christmas at St Andrews Church.

Saturday 13 December – Launch of Jordi Casamitjana’s New Book Why Vegans Don’t, at Karamel, 4 Coburg Road, 4.30-6pm.

Wednesday 31 December – New Year’s Eve at Karamel with Fat Gay Vegan, 7pm-3am.


Ongoing courses and activities

Colourwheel Art Classes for adults on Thursday mornings or afternoons at St. Andrews Church Hall, Alexandra Park Road N10 2DD. Starting 18 September.

1st Impression – an exhibition by Running Jump members at Karamel, Coburg Road.

Life drawing sessions – alternate Saturdays during term time at Rhodes Avenue Primary School, 1-3pm.

Illustrating children’s books, course for adults – Wednesday mornings at the Green Shed, Muswell Hill, 10- 11.30am. 19 August – 24 September.

H.A.T.E. Club - Hobby and Tabletop enthusiasts, adult-only gaming club - Wednesday evenings at Karamel, 5.30-10.30pm.

Painting for Adults – Thursdays at CUFOS Community Centre (the old railway station), Top of The Avenue N10, 10-12.30pm or 1.30-4pm. Term-time.

Free Martial Arts for Teenagers on Saturdays from 2 August to 4 September Alexandra Park School, 5-8pm.

Haringey Circle: late morning Creative Coffee Drop-In on Thursday mornings at Oita Cafe, the Green Rooms, Station road N22, 11-1.30pm.

Haringey Circle: Paws and Walk dog walk on the last Thursday of every month in Ally Pally, 10-11.30am. Meet outside Ally Pally station.

5 and 6-a-side Football League on Wednesday evenings from 14 May to 17 December at Christ’s College, East End Road (where it meets the North Circular), East Finchley N2 0SE, 8-10pm. Leisure Leagues.

The 22nd Southgate Beavers have some free spaces for years 2 and 3 children from September.

The Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution in Pond Square is offering an exciting array of autumn courses.

Museum of Homelessness will be open from 17 April to 1 November, at the Manor House Lodge, inside Finsbury Park, Seven Sisters Road N4 2DE 12.30-4.30pm.

Geekstraveganza – regular boardgame meetup on these dates at Karamel, 4 Coburg Road, Wood Green, 1-6pm.

Em Power fitness classes – 9am on Mondays & Thursdays (term time only), focusing on strength. All abilities welcome!
