Broomfield Blues

With the coming of August comes the return of the Blues to Broomfield Park. More splendid music by the lake, sitting on the grass under the willows, courtesy of St Harmonicas Blues Club. 5 Sunday afternoons on the pop

Broomfield Park Bandstand N13 every Sunday in August. Free entry.

Refreshments, hot and cold food available in a licensed area.

 Week 1 - Sunday 2nd August 2015

2:30 – 3:30 Graham Hine, slide guitarist with the legendary Brett Marvin and the Thunderbolts and Blue Goose recording artist

3:45 – 5:30 Martin Fieber, the ‘Sultan of Slide’ is perhaps the UK’s best kept slide secret. He brings his hugely talented band ‘The Customtones’.

Week 2 - Sunday 9th August 2015

Two of London’s finest guitar driven bands bring you an afternoon of Southern Blues Rock.

2:30 – 3:30 John Hoare, brings his popular local band, The Haunting AD

3:45 – 5:30 The Blues Chapter are possibly the finest young Blues band in the capital.

Week 3 - Sunday 16th August 2015

2:30 – 3:30 Gearoid O’Meachair brings his band, Tressell, who play Celtic, Americana and Oldtime contemporary Folk Blues on vintage instruments

3:45 – 5:30  The Low Down Dogs provide acoustic and electric blues that meanders from the Mississippi Delta via Memphis and Chicago to the New River Delta!

Week 4 - Sunday 23rd August 2015

2:30 – 3:15 and 4:30 – 5:30 Two sets of gypsy Jazz played on Macaferri guitars in the style of Django Rheinhart.

3:30 – 4:15 Support is by That Blue Patch, multi-instrumentalists Ruth and Dave Buckwell

Week 5 - Sunday 30th August 2015

2:30 – 3:30 Professor Redhair plays a blend of New Orleans piano driven sounds in the style of Dr John

3:45 – 5:30 Award winning recording artist harmonica ace, Paul Lamb, playing his acoustic set with Chad Strentz.
