Beginner's Martial Arts Course January 2016

Alexandra Park BJJ will be running a 4 week introductory course in January 2016. It will cover all the basic skills and movements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.

The course enables you to develop your fitness levels, balance, coordination and flexibility develop in a no-pressure environment and provides the opportunity to start a new sport at a reasonable price with like minded beginners.


Brazilian Jiu Jitsu (BJJ) is a full contact martial art, combat sport, and a self defence system that focuses on grappling and especially ground fighting.

Alexandra Park BJJ offers Brazilian Jiu Jitsu classes for all levels. Alexandra Park BJJ is an affiliate of the world famous Nova Geracao BJJ team.

Course will run on Thursdays 7.30pm-9.00pm at Alexandra Park School, Rhodes Avenue, London, N22 7UT.

All Participants at Alexandra Park BJJ are expected to sign up to our code of conduct and an insurance waiver.

Prices:

£25 per person
£20 per person with concessions

Events and Activities (covid19-era-friendly!)

Tales TV - online storytelling for ages 0-6years, from Chickenshed Theatre. Aired Tuesdays and Thursdays, and available thereafter.

Stories with Teddy - online storytelling, with new episodes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on YouTube. For children 3years+

Clap, chant, bang pots and pans for our Carers and Key Workers - every Thursday evening at 8pm

What to do when self-isolating? See suggestions (4 April) for free offerings by the British Film Institute and MUBI, National Theatre and Royal Court, and a local production of Mozart's Marriage of Figaro, in addition to those suggested in the previous APN newsletter (21 March).

Haringey Literature Live (via Collage Arts) continues to offer writing courses, now delivered online (they also offer help with loading and using Zoom for this purpose). Current courses are Life Writing and Memoir on Tuesdays at 10-12.30pm, and Inspire your writing on Thursdays from 10.30-1pm, both running from late April to the end of May.

 


Our list of the wonderful line-up of local events that were due to be held is very sadly being put under wraps during the current crisis - but we will restore it as soon as restrictions on attendance at public events are relaxed!
