Don't forget the Fete on the Triangle this Sunday 18th, from 12.30-5pm (corner of Crescent Road and Palace Gates Road). There will be cakes and plants for sale, live music, Magic, Local History stall, Wildlife in the Park, and of course our local Water Game and Mask-making. Contributions of cakes and biscuits - large or small - would be welcome (if you could let us know what you intend to bring, that would be helpful - though not essential - and somebody can also collect them from you on Saturday, if you wish - reply to this post, or send a personal message to Alex King). Thanks to everyone who has already offered ...
Also this year we are participating in the national Great Get-Together events in memory of Jo Cox, and Refugee Week, celebrating that ‘we have far more in common than that which divides us’ (Jo Cox). There will be a display of photos by local resident Ruth Miller, taken when she was teaching refugees English in Lesbos last year, and she will be happy to talk about her experiences. Lucy Nabijou from Refugees Welcome Haringey will have information about several campaign groups and refugee support groups in Haringey. Also this year, there will be a variety of games from around the world - some that we think of as British, but actually originated elsewhere!
Hope to see you there!
