  • I didn't get any information about the outcome of the engagement, and nobody I spoke to had either. I may have missed an announcement, or possibly there was some material at the design table where the children were drawing. Presumably something about it will emerge from the Palace consultative committee.

  • The above says ' read more' but clicking brings nothing further up. I took some pics and videos of The Bakelites (a favourite band with the U3a!) who played two sets yesterday afternoon. Very good.

Re Shaping the Grove does any one know if there's more substance to it than there is to Shaping Wood Green, where very little seems to have happened despite all the words spoken about it and where local neighbours haven't even been invited to attend discussion events.

Surely the key thing the Grove needs to do is get the cafe to open their toilet - it's absurd for a cafe doing quite a trade not to offer a loo and when the nearest loo is near the boating lake. Just as well that yesterday portaloos had been brought in.

    • There was supposed to be an announcement about the results of the Shaping the Grove consultation sometime during the afternoon. I'm sure the Friends of the Park will have a succinct summary of it in their next newsletter - start of July. I will copy it onto APN! There doesn't seem to be anything on the Alexandra Palace website about it. From what I've heard, there were lots of requests for toilets - it is an obvious lack!

I actually found the Wood Green Voices events (culminating in the Shaping Wood Green event) mostly very interesting - sorry you didn't get info. on all of them! For anyone who hasn't heard about this, residents have been meeting occasionally at events organised by the Wood Green Regeneration team to discuss the future of Wood Green and what needs to be done. Webpage here:

      https://www.haringey.gov.uk/regeneration/wood-green/wood-green-voices

I just contacted them and asked to be included (woodgreenregeneration@haringey.gov.uk), although not strictly a resident of Wood Green, I guess! I used to be, and am very interested in particular about what can be done about the town centre (such as it is). Not sure what they are planning next.

I agree that the last Shaping Wood Green event (which grew out of Wood Green Voices) was uninspiring. There were complaints at the end about the lack of action.
