Exciting dynamic & experienced Latin group playing Latin, Salsa & Cuban music.

Alma Latina, formed in 2023, is a dynamic Latin music collective led by Cuban singer/songwriter Yuri Moreno and British guitarist/producer Paul Rumbol, blending salsa, Cuban, and Latin fusion in energetic performances, with Yuri co-writing all the tracks on their debut album Songs from the Soul. This performance will be their 4th appearance at Karamel, their last appearance being their album launch back in February.

They’ve had such a blast bringing Cuban and salsa music to varied audiences and events and are always looking for new ways to get people dancing.

Yuri has a beautiful, authentic voice, is widely considered the best Cuban singer in the UK and well known for her work with Latin bands Son Yambu, Roberto Pla and Sarabanda amongst others. She has appeared in large festivals like Glastonbury and Womad and has appeared in TV and film, including “Red 2” and “ Boat Story”. She is a vivacious, vibrant and dynamic entertainer who also plays percussion & is capable of getting any party going.

Paul is an award winning, London based guitarist, singer and producer with over 35 years experience as a band leader for top Brazilian, Latin and World music groups, pioneering achievements in the UK, presenting African, Caribbean and World music culture.

Worried that your crowd might not be able to dance the Latin way? Don't worry because their charismatic lead singer 'Yuri' can show them the basic moves.

Their repertoire ranges from all the Cuban & Latin classics to Latin versions of pop songs in English & Yuri’s own compositions.

Life drawing sessions – starting 10 January, alternate Saturdays during term time at Rhodes Avenue Primary School, ** 12-2pm **.

Colourwheel Art Classes for adults on Thursday mornings or afternoons at St. Andrews Church Hall, Alexandra Park Road N10 2DD.

Illustrating children’s books, course for adults – Wednesday mornings at the Alexandra Palace East Court Creative Pavilion, 10- 12.00am. 4 February – 25 March.

H.A.T.E. Club - Hobby and Tabletop enthusiasts, adult-only gaming club - Wednesday evenings at Karamel, 5.30-10.30pm.

The Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution in Pond Square is offering an exciting array of courses.

Museum of Homelessness will be open from 17 April to 1 November, at the Manor House Lodge, inside Finsbury Park, Seven Sisters Road N4 2DE 12.30-4.30pm.

Geekstraveganza – regular boardgame meetup on these dates at Karamel, 4 Coburg Road, Wood Green, 1-6pm.

Em Power fitness classes – 9am on Mondays & Thursdays (term time only), focusing on strength. All abilities welcome!
