From Big Green Bookshop:

On Good Friday, Ryan Lane and Elf Lyons are doing a preview of their show 'HILDA & THE SPECTRUM' alongside a preview of Elf's new show SWAN.

All in the beautiful confines of the Big Green Bookshop. BYOB

HILDA & THE SPECTRUM:
Part clown show, part love story, part autobiography and devised at renowned clown school L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier, Hilda & The Spectrum is a surrealist play devised by Elf Lyons and Ryan Lane. It follows the meeting and relationship between two otherworldly outsiders – Mr X and Hildergarde – as they meet on a dilapidated allotment in Cricklewood. Do they know each other? What is in Mr X’s briefcase? Why is Hilda’s accent so peculiar? What is THE SPECTRUM? How do they both know David Bowie?
Using a concoction of mime, clown, improvisation and live music Hilda & The Spectrum is a bizarre, viciously funny offbeat piece of new writing with a soviet kitsch feel. Imagine The X Men meets The Mighty Boosh – (this comparison is mainly because there is one really cool bit of stage combat in the play and one of the characters has telekinesis).

ELF LYONS: SWAN
The Giraffe limbed clown and raconteur is previewing her most eccentric comedy show yet. Think big. Think weird. Mathew Bourne would be proud. It’s going to be fun. And sexy. Yeah. Let’s throw that word in there too. Graduate of L’Ecole Philippe Gaulier.

“Hilariously Brave’ One of British Vogue’s ‘Top Twenty Names of Now’
“Endearingly eccentric on so many levels.” – Fest
“A fast talking, smart-thinking standup for whom the adjective “kooky” could have been invented for” – The Guardian

“Enthusiastically peculiar… showing sexy, nerdy and funny aren’t mutually incompatible.” – Chortle
