Muswell Hill XR and Muswell Hill Sustainability Group are going to stage a 'Burning Ballroom' and Die-in, with some speakers and outreach stalls, outside Planet Organic in Muswell Hill on Saturday 30th from 12.00 till 2.00. There will be 3 performances in the 2 hours.

We'll be playing the roles of the greedy politicians, bankers, investors and so on who are directly complicit in worsening the crisis we find ourselves in. The dancing represents us waltzing into oblivion as the planet burns, after which we will lie on the ground to simulate the death of humanity and earth's other residents (do join us for the Die-In !). The dance of denial and procrastination followed by its logical outcome.

Our aim is to draw attention to the start of COP26, but also highlight the uncertainty and inadequacy of that process, and insist that solution of the climate crisis cannot be left to bureaucrats and politicians, who've shown themselves so unreliable over the last 30 years, while the problems of climate change have long been known.

Appeasement of the big polluters and suppliers of toxic fuels, which the COP process has so far proved to be, will lead as certainly to disaster as other historic acts of political appeasement. Other ways have to be found - and there will be suggestions.

Everyone is welcome to join in the Die-In (please wear black for this) - or just watch and talk!

Illustrating Children’s books, course for adults on Wednesday mornings at The Green Shed, 1 Tetherdown N10, 10-11.30am. April 30 – July 9.

Geekstraveganza – regular boardgame meetup on these dates at Karamel, 4 Coburg Road, Wood Green, 1-6pm.

Em Power fitness classes – Monday and Friday mornings in OR Tambo Rec, 9-9.30am (term time only). The main focus is on core and legs.

Life drawing sessions – alternate Saturdays during term time at Rhodes Avenue Primary School, 1-3pm.
