Did you discover that your favourite jumper has a hole? Don't throw it away. Tricia at Stitch can help with that!

Bring your troubled pile of knitted clothing to us and we can teach you how to breath new life into them. In just a few hours with our local expert darner Tricia Sharpe you will able to learn to mend and repair those holes creatively and add a bit of interest.

In this class with Tricia you will be focusing on learning the basics of darning which is a way to mend and reinforce holes. Darning is a technique that uses a needle and various yarns to interweave to close holes and fix weaker areas of the garment. It is perfect for mending jumpers, scarves, socks even school jumpers or any other knitted items of clothing.

In this workshop we will be focusing on hand darning using two techniques-

Swiss darning

Woven darning

You will be provided with a needle, yarns to use in the class and if you do not have any hole-y items to bring in we will be providing samples for you to learn on. Refreshments, biscuits and a warm creative environments will be available.
