Torus, an established modern jazz quartet who have been touring since the 1980s, bring their unique and retrospective music to Karamel. Compromising Gary Plumley (saxophones), Jonathan Gee (piano), Mick Sexton (bass) and Trevor Taylor (drums), the group reformed to celebrate the music of the period drawn from Steps Ahead, Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea. A night full of funky, surprising and reminiscent tunes.

“Gary Plumley, surely the best under the radar tenor saxophonist around, and throughout both sets on great favourites like Steps Aheads Islands… Plumley was passionate, melodically sure, and both free or blues soaked funky ,as the material demanded.” – London Jazz News

“Trevor Taylor mainly functions in the free improv area which meant that his fills and patterns always had the element of surprise without losing grip on the groove held steady by Sexton.” – London Jazz News
