We continue our Artist Curators Season with a night curated by the woman of the moment, Bryde, who has chosen some acts to represent her label, Seahorse Music. So, who do we have?...

Little Rêd
https://open.spotify.com/artist/7s2pn1DBJXj2bqDOpUAHBt

Bristol-based Little Rêd creates emotionally charged electro-pop described by Going Solo as a "dreamy soundscape". Her music is a hook-laden soundscape and she's been compared to the likes of Ellie Goulding, Kate Bush and The Japanese House.

Originally from Cardiff, Ellie is a skilled guitarist, singer and songwriter. Her debut single “Hell”, co-written with Ed Tullett was premiered on The Line Of Best Fit who called it "One hell of a debut", attributing Ellie with a voice that “speaks to you like something from a dream.”

Since then, she has played live around the UK supporting artists such as C Duncan, Betsy and Half Waif, receiving airplay from Amazing Radio, Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music and Huw Stephens on Radio Wales. Recent slot at Secret Garden Party won her lots of new fans. A new single Ripples produced by Willie Weekes is due at the end of the year.

Rookes
https://soundcloud.com/iamrookes/01-150421-god-knows-ref5-l1

Brand new to the scene, hailing from Birmingham, London-based ROOKES (aka Jenny Bulcraig) has spent seven years honing her craft and consolidating her experience into this virtuoso one-woman show.

ROOKES is already proving popular in Birmingham and London venues, having opened for the likes of Stealing Sheep and She Makes War. Blending dark, evocative song-writing with mesmerising vocals, ROOKES’ sound is a compounding of brooding heartbreak delivered with a distinctive pop edge. Her debut single is set to arrive on 20th Sept.

Reviews for ROOKES

“Adore” - Bearwood Promotors
“… Urgent, bubbling alt-pop… almost hymnal vocals." - Root and Branches Blog.
“Technically excellent… very distinctive sound… absolutely breathtaking.” - The Slap, September 2016

Mere Child
https://open.spotify.com/artist/079H1QseXnS5FzfvKSyLXJ

Aimee Herbert-Smith makes "Sad Disco". With aural nods to Cocteau Twins and ‘Mirage’-era Fleetwood Mac and drawing comparisons to Vaults and 90’s dance collective Olive, the music of brand new artist Mere Child is dark and fragile, yet soaring and cinematic.

Reviews for MERE CHILD
"Pairing pulsing electronic beats with emotion-packed lyrics, the siren call of Aimee Hebert-Smith’s vocal will lure you to the shore of her musical mind." Line of Best Fit
"one of my favorite debuts of the summer" - I HEART MOOSIQ
"darkly poignant, self-referential dream-electronica" - Bitter Sweet Symphonies
