Learn to make this colourful shawl with our very own knitting expert Sharon.

This shawl would be a great addition to anyone’s spring and summer wardrobe. This beautiful, colourful pattern and wool is by Stuart Hillard. Stuart is a designer, author and a previous contestant of the Great British Sewing Bee. The pattern uses two different wools which we are stocking in store.

If you already know how to cast on/off and know how to knit and purl this class will be ideal for you. With Sharon's guidance she will enable you to develop your skills and technique and build confidence. Full instructions will be provided to each participants to take home.

What you will learn:

• Cast on methods

• Decreasing/increasing, how to work cables

• Understanding a pattern- the basic essentials

• Using basic knit/ purl stitches to create pattern

• Finishing your work

What you need to bring:

Nothing, just yourselves! A notebook in case you wish to jot down ideas.

All wool materials and needles will be provided.

CLASS SIZE: 6 maximum

DURATION: 2 hours

What’s on at Karamel in January?

Saturday 24 January 2026 – Fires and Fascism – free screening + Q&A at Karamel, 7pm. Supported by climate action group Fossil Free London.
