Learn to sew a Summer top at Stitch!

Summer is around the corner and what better garment to add to your wardrobe than a summer blouse: Flowing and comfortable and suits all body types. This is a pull over top and can be used off-the-shoulder on those warm summer days. It would be a perfect garment to sew to improve your sewing skills with our resident seamstress Pat Stevens!

This is an improver dressmaking workshop. You should already know your way around a sewing machine, be able to thread the machine and load the bobbin and do forward and back straight stitching. This workshop is a great introduction to making a simple garment and to helping you understand the basic principles of cutting out a pattern and dressmaking.

The skills you will learn include:

Pattern cutting

Cutting the pieces accurately

Making a channel for elastic

French seams

Raslan sleeves

We will provide the dress pattern for you. You can bring along some fabric of your choice, or purchase a fabric in advance.
