Life Writing and Memoir Rolling Workshop with Giovanna Iozzi - starting in November.

These workshops are designed for everyone – whether you are already life writing or are wanting to make a start. Giovanna tailors material for individuals within the group, so that there is a range of exercises and suggested reading, allowing complete beginners to work alongside more established life writers. Our buddying system keeps you on track and students learn as much from giving feedback as from receiving it. Weekly writing exercises and areas for discussion make this an extremely productive workshop.

Giovanna says:
“Over 6 weeks, we will explore how to shape and structure our writing in a compelling and novelistic way. We will learn ways to hook our readers into our story, keep them turning the pages, charm and alarm them with our characters and reveal fascinating, relatable truths about our lives. We will investigate what is meant by a strong voice in memoir and understand how stylistic devices like dialogue, scene building, setting description, and suspense creates a vivid world the reader can disappear inside. As well as reading extracts from published memoirists, nominated students will have the chance to workshop extracts of their writing each week.”

All levels welcome.

Tuesday mornings, 10.30am-1pm; Nov 2, 9, 16, 23, 30, Dec 7. Cost £125.
