MIXING COCKTAILS, TUNES... AND VEGANS!
live music by Alfie Paca
karaoke with KaraoChris
food by Kath & Roger and Adriana

🎟️ Entry: totally free, just RSVP!
🗓 Date: Saturday, 15 March 2025
🕙 Time: 7:00 PM – midnight
📍 Location: Karamel Club - 4 Coburg Rd, London N22 6UJ

🪩 Join us for a fabulously fun night at Karamel Club, where we'll take over the entire venue - socialise in the restaurant area over food and drinks, showcase your hidden talent with a mic, or dance the night away if you're up for some groovy beats!
(There will always be a seating area dedicated to quieter conversations.)

THE FOOD
Culinary legends Kath & Roger and Adriana, vegan food blogger (@avegtastefromatoz), have concocted a special selection of tasty dishes for this event:

  • Crespelle ricotta e spinaci, an authentic Italian delicacy (savoury thin pancakes stuffed with vegan ricotta cheese and spinach) served with roasted potatoes and mixed salad
  • Korean meatballs in gochujang sauce with rice and pickled red cabbage
  • Caribbean thali: jerk stew, doubles, rice and peas, rainbow coleslaw and fried plantain

The usual staples will be on offer as well: burgers, pizzas, and a variety of delicious sides and desserts.

THE DRINKS
🍻🍹Beer on tap, wine by the glass, and a selection of cocktails and mocktails: Karamel's fully vegan bar has something for every taste.

THE MUSIC
🎸🦙 As background for the first part of the night: instrumental live music played by Mixer regular Alfie Paca.

👩‍🎤👨‍🎤 Later on we will feature karaoke hosted by KaraoChris: sign up to jump on stage and sing your heart out!

💃🕺 Dance away the rest of the night to a selection of your favourite tunes: add your requests to our playlist and they will be shuffled into the mix.

ATTENDING
🎟️🌱 Entry to the event is totally free, but please do support the venue by buying some of their delicious food and drinks (both 100% vegan!).

🫶🤗 All are welcome, and we strive to make the event a safe and inclusive space for everyone - no discriminatory or abusive behaviour of any kind will be tolerated.

THE VENUE
Karamel is a very short walk from Wood Green Tube station (Piccadilly Line). The entrance to the venue is step-free and there is a wheelchair-accessible toilet. Karamel is dog-friendly, so feel free to bring your furry friends if they'll enjoy it.

Originally founded and run by vegan activists, today it’s operated by Collage Arts (a charity supporting the local community) and managed by the lovely Kath who, together with her charming husband Roger, also prepares the delicious homemade food served there… in very generous portions ;) and not forgetting the fairly affordable prices!

For well over a decade now, Karamel has been at the heart of London’s vegan community, helping it reach its current size - for example:

  • giving a new home to London Vegan Drinks (Europe’s largest vegan social gathering at the time!) when it outgrew its preceding venues
  • providing a welcoming environment for LGBTQ+ vegans (inclusivity and safeguarding having always been a central tenet of theirs) with Fat Gay Vegan's Queer Vegan Disco
  • throwing official or de facto afterparties for many Animal Rights marches and protests

Nowadays, they host our sister event, the regular board game event Geekstraveganza (as they’ve done since its inception in 2016), and a lot of other wonderful events for the local area and the wider London vegan community.
