With Alex McHallam, Mosaic Artist
Whether this is your 1st of 21st mosaic, this is the class for you.
Alex is a local mixed media artist specialising in mosaics. She has been teaching mosaic making for the past fifteen years. Her work can be seen locally in Palmers Green and Gordon Hill railway stations.
If you haven’t made a mosaic before, you will learn the basics of how to design a mosaic, cutting techniques and how to finish you piece. If you’ve done it before and have another project in mind but need a hand to get started, bring your ideas along and I’ll help you begin.
Suitable projects: a small mosaic plaque (wood provided); terracotta plant pots, wooden boxes, you name it! Just ask me first if you’re unsure if it is suitable or not.
What you will learn:
What materials to use
What adhesives to use
Trade tips and tricks to help you on your way
This workshop is suitable for beginners and improvers alike: we will start the class with an overview of tile cutting techniques for everyone.
Materials provided, but you’re welcome to bring any crockery, stones, etc, you might want to include. All other materials will be supplied.
Tools are also provided.
