Can the council website A-Z of recycling be updated, some of the entries are confusing or have insufficient details.
----The NLWA said they would send us an updated Q&A about what can and can’t be recycled. I will also write up notes from the discussion. We could then compare this with the Council’s A-Z and see what needs updating.
- Is the Council investigating recycling disposable nappies, as per the councils in Wales leading the way.
----The NLWA weren’t aware of any scheme, and given financial constraints I think it’s unlikely the Council would do this on its own.
why doesn’t the Council champion Terracycle and have a drop off point in libraries etc
----We discussed the need for collection points for Vegware, if that is the same thing, and NLWA said they would look into it but we could also raise it with the Council eg to provide a dedicated container for small businesses who are using vegware out of commitment.
why doesn’t the Council champion eco bricks for non recyclable plastic. ---- Again I think this would be a NLWA thing rather than Council, they didn’t mention any such scheme but we can go back and ask them.
What is the Council’s policy on the Community practice of giving away stuff outside our homes? I recently witnessed a bin lorry stop (on a Sunday) to collect a bag of books my neighbour had left out. The bin man looked in the bag, retrieved one book and then threw the rest in the crushed before driving on.
---- I think the NLWA/Council have supported community give-aways in the past. If people leave stuff out at other times it isn’t easy for the staff to know what’s out as a freebie and what is just refuse. Do you have a suggestion as to how that could be addressed? Leave a note on it maybe?
If I were able to attend I would be asking

If anyone gets the opportunity to ask these questions and report back, that would be amazing.
