Hello All,

Do join the Friends of Ally Pally Station this Sunday from 4pm. We'll be sprucing up the beds, pruning, weeding and replanting, and planting bulbs, as well as discussing plans for the future. It'll be light, extremely satisfying work, followed by drinks in the Gate from about 6pm.

Do join us, whether or not you're already a Friend (easy to become one - just bring a small plant or throw in a fiver!).

Michael

P.S. If you're concerned about the ticket barriers/station access etc, all the more reason to join us! As a Rail User Group, Great Northern WILL listen to our/your concerns.

  • Hi Susie
I don't think we have any pictures of us, but I will be taking pictures of the station garden as soon as the rain clears and will post a few here. Our plans are long term so it will always be there to be enjoyed at any time, and will change with the seasons
  • It sounds fantastic, though alas I've not used the station since Sunday and so haven't seen the wonderful results. Do you have any pictures of you all working away last weekend?
  • Thank you Giles! A brilliant session. The planers are all looking all the more fantastic now and yes, the bulbs will be a wonderful surprise.

Great work team. Lots to be proud of, and lots to look forward to, to be discussed at committee meeting this eve in fact.

Many thanks to all who came, and a warm welcome to recent new members, and open invitation to all.

    Michael

  • Just wanted to say thanks for organisng a great afternoon. The station garden looks really tidy and loved. The winter planting should cheer up many a chilly commute in the months to come, and the spring bulbs will be a surprise to look forward to.
The many appreciative comments from passengers waiting on the platforms were heartening and the generally good condition of the planters means there are a number of unsung heroes out there who have been tending them.
As a bonus I've also made new friends.
    Thank you everyone!
