Traffic news in Alexandra Ward

A neighbourhood meeting on 'Our Streets beyond Covid' for Alexandra and part of Bounds Green ward was held on 17th October 2020 by Zoom. See the report here.

Enfield Council's successful bid for a huge LTN in Bowes Park was announced in August. Haringey hurriedly put together a bid for an LTN on their side of the boundary, to address the likely increase in rat-running in these roads (see map at the bottom of the above post). Awaiting DfT and TfL's decision on this, expected by the end of October.

An Alexandra ward meeting with the head of Transport Planning at Haringey, Neil Goldberg, was held on 13th July 2020, organised by Cllr Alessandra Rossetti, to discuss possible Low Traffic Neighbourhoods (LTNs) in the ward, new cycle lanes, and 'busgate' on Al Palace Way. Attendees: Alessandra, Alexandra Low Traffic Group attended (Annabel, James, Grant for the start of it), Mike Gerrie from the Bounds Green Res Assn, and Palace Gates RA were invited but couldn't make it (any more?). The importance of engaging with local people was emphasised, and transport officer Maurice Richards raised issues about possible impacts on the volume of traffic on main roads and on bus services. Another meeting to be held in 6 weeks time or so, after our whole neighbourhood meeting in Alexandra ward.

A whole ward meeting was held in Albert Road Rec on 11 July on 'Our Community beyond Covid', out of which developed requests for two further meetings, one of which would be focused on traffic. To be held in September.
