Have you always wanted to learn to knit socks?

Join us at Stitch with local crafter and expert Alison Ferrary for a brilliant one off workshop to learn this useful knitting skill.

A bit of knitting experience is needed but suitable for intermediate knitters and beyond
You will learn to make a mini sock in the class and also receive a pattern for a full size version
Skills covered during this class will include knitting on 4 needles, picking up stitches and the kitchener stitch (sewn cast off)
Tips on what to do next and how to avoid mistakes

MATERIALS

If you want to bring your own sock needles that is fine you will need 2.75mm or 3.00mm x 15cm length double pointed needles. Otherwise you can buy on the day double pointed needles in the shop, we will have plenty in stock (£2.20)

We can provide wool. Otherwise if you are bringing your own you will need a 4ply of your choosing, 25-50g in case you want to make a second one, the size sock would fit a baby or doll. We have darning needles to sew up your socks.

Parking: We have parking down the residential roads further down from the shop. If you are not lucky to find one we have a paid parking lot a few minutes walk away: Lodge Drive Car Park, London N13 5XS

Haringey Circle: late morning Creative Coffee Drop-In on Thursday mornings at Oita Cafe, the Green Rooms, Station road N22, 11-1.30pm.

Haringey Circle: Paws and Walk dog walk on the last Thursday of every month in Ally Pally, 10-11.30am. Meet outside Ally Pally station.

Colourwheel Art Classes for adults on Thursday mornings or afternoons at St. Andrews Church Hall, Alexandra Park Road N10 2DD. Starting 18 September.

5 and 6-a-side Football League on Wednesday evenings from 14 May to 17 December at Christ’s College, East End Road (where it meets the North Circular), East Finchley N2 0SE, 8-10pm. Leisure Leagues.

The 22nd Southgate Beavers have some free spaces for years 2 and 3 children from September.

The Highgate Literary & Scientific Institution in Pond Square is offering an exciting array of autumn courses.
