SAPL AGM & Quiz Night

SAPL AGM on March 10th from 5:00pm onwards

Please put this date in your diary and come and hear all SAPL has achieved over the past year. Refreshments will be provided and there will be a quiz (with prizes) to test your local knowledge.
SAPL is a great way to meet local people and get more involved in your local community,  as well as supporting the library. At the AGM we will be looking to elect a new committee with some new and different posts involved. As well as the usual Chair, Secretary, Treasurer, Membership Officer ,Publicity Officer and general committee members, we also need a Parent Representative, a Music Co-ordinator to arrange music events at the library and an Events Co-ordinator.

Come and help PGRA local residents with flower beds at Saturday, 7th March from 11am.

This will be our first gardening session this year so we have lots to do.

We have planned to spend most of the session setting more bulbs for a summer display.  However some of the beds
are in need of weeding; although the condition of the soil should allow this to be done quickly. The spring bulbs that have been planted over the last two years are about to bloom and clearing away winter decay will encourage a colourful display over the next weeks.

We have planned to spend most of the session setting more bulbs for a summer display. Hopefully you are available for all or part of the session.  A large turn out of volunteers would allow us to give all the beds attention and to prepare for a great splash of colour in the summer.

If you are available, please meet at 11.am at Crescent Rise/Albert Road beds. Depending on the turnout we will either form two groups or move to Crescent Road when we have completed Crescent Rise.

We meet on the first Saturday of each month. Garden group link

Death Cafe Book Group

Death is a hot topic at the moment and a lot of thoughtful people are listening to the Reith Lectures by Atul Gawande. We have a change in the law going through parliament which may legalise assisted suicide for those that want it in certain circumstances and offer better protection to those that do not.

If you have read Atul Gawande's book 'Being Mortal' which covers these issues and offers a variety of models for elder care, then come along to talk about it at the first ever Death Book Group.

Come and talk out your hopes and fears

and start deciding what YOU want.

On Tuesday 17th February  5:50-7:00 pm

at

Alexandra Park Library,

Alexandra Park Road,

London N22 7UJ
